2017 design trends

Some interesting thoughts in there on the direction of design in 2017. Looks like nothing revolutionary, but subtle developments of established trends. As is the way with most design trends, people look to make their creations fit in with the current look and feel of their marketplace but also be distinctive.

A difficult tightrope to walk, but unless you are out to shock or be deliberately obtuse, there is a lot to be said for familiarity in design. You set the stage for your audience, using the familiarity to do a lot of the groundwork for you. The skill comes in using that and still creating something memorable and distinctive.
